OpenDyslexic Font

This page used the OpenDyslexic font. It also uses several other techniques, line height is increased, alternative paragraphs have a slightly different background. The paragraph the mouse is over has a slight darkened background, we have also changed the menu text from all caps to capitalised.

To add OpenDyslexic font we have had to upload it to the internet so that it is accessible from the blog. This means that it needs to be on a secure site (https as opposed to http). Currently you cannot upload fonts to the blogs so I have downloaded the fonts and uploaded to a Glow wiki.

Free OpenSource Dyslexia Font – OpenDyslexic
OpenDyslexic is a new open source font created to increase readability for readers with dyslexia. The typeface includes regular, bold, italic, and bold-italic styles. It is being updated continually and improved based on input from dyslexic users. OpenDyslexic is free for Commercial and Personal use.

A series of scripts designed to increase readability on websites using color, font styles, shading etc.

These are not methods ordinarily used, but anecdotal evidence suggests that these methods can greatly increase readability.
