Goals for Placement

1. I would like to find out more about behaviour management. This aspect of teaching does concern me as I am a little nervous about taking control of the class. For placement I hope to find out more about behaviour management strategies from the teacher, as well as from doing reading on this topic. This will allow me to be more confident in taking responsibility for a class.

• SPR 3.2.2: Apply the school’s positive behaviour policy, including strategies for understanding and preventing bullying
• SPR 3.2.2: Demonstrate the ability to justify the approach taken in managing behaviour

2. I want to develop lessons that motivate students to learn and deliver these lessons with confidence. I hope to try out many different activities and materials to capture the student’s interests.

• SPR 3.1.3: Demonstrate that they can select and use a wide variety of resources and teaching approaches, including digital technologies and outdoor learning opportunities

3. I hope to learn about differentiating lessons to ensure that all students are moving forward in their learning. I want to show flexibility during lessons to be able to respond to the individual needs of each student.

• SPR 2.1.2: Understand how to match the level of curricular areas to the needs of all learners
  
• SPR 2.3.1: Have knowledge and understanding of the stages of learners’ cognitive, social and emotional development which they are able to use to take account of all learners’ needs
