Well – only 10 more sleeps till Christmas! We really are on the final countdown! Can we ask that if you are intending to send your child in to nursery in the last week, (21st to 24th December) that you make sure we have your current mobile number or home number, in case we need to provide it to Test and Protect, should anyone in nursery test positive. School finishes on 22nd December and we need to ensure that the details we have for you are up to date, and that we have them in the Nursery Office. If your child will not be attending nursery next week, please can you let us know by this Friday so we can plan for our snack provision, staffing, etc.
Our Rainbow Room is having their party tomorrow and Santa will be visiting us (outside) between 10.15 and 10.45. He appeared at last week’s party to the delight of our wee ones and also lots of school children who spotted him from their playground. He asked our children to remember to ring some bells for him on Christmas Eve at 6pm to make this Christmas very special and to help him find his way to everyone’s houses.
Our Rainbow room will also be having their viewing of the Sleeping Beauty pantomime and we are looking forward to giving the baddies a silent boo and a thumbs down sign!!
Over the next week you will receive a special report on your child’s Learning Journal. As we have not been able to hold our Parents’ Evening this term, we decided to write a report to let you know how this term has been. We have been absolutely amazed by how well our children have come in to nursery and adapted to the bubbles without the support of their mums and dads. They have thoroughly enjoyed learning together and observing their play, lockdown does not seem to have had any negative impact on their enthusiasm and curiosity. We are missing having proper chats with you, but want to remind you that keyworkers are always just at the end of a phone, if you have any concerns or just want a catch up on your child’s progress in nursery.
To access your child’s report – just sign in to their Learning Journal and look underneath their photo for a green button marked “Reports”. It should bring up a Winter Term Report to click on, which in turn brings up the report. If you have any difficulty accessing this, please just phone or email us.
All reports will be posted by Friday, so if it is not there yet, rest assured, it will be shortly.
This week our wee people will be bringing home their special Christmas surprises. They have put lots of effort into painting their bags, making their cards and creating their special family gift. It has been like Santa’s workshop in our playroom for a few weeks now. We know that you are going to be very impressed!
