Pattern Spotting

Patterns are at the heart of everything we do in maths and being a good pattern spotter will support in you maths like nothing else.

This week’s video focuses on using your pattern spotting abilities to discover the rule behind the pattern which will reinforce what you think the next number should be.

Using Numbers to Describe a Chance

We have been looking at words to describe the chance of an event and we have begun looking at numbers to describe events. The most important thing to remember when showing numbers for probability is that the chance of success is the numerator and all of the possibilities is the denominator.

Here is a video showing how to use numbers to describe the probability and then how you can compare probabilities.

Welcome to S2

Hi all, this is a post to welcome you and to make you aware of this place. This is a blog and I will be making regular posts here, sharing with you plans for the year and videos of processes we will be using to support your learning.

The first topic will be a revision, but we will also be extending  the work we completed on probability.

We will be exploring a scale and how this can be applied to different situations, as well as how to calculate different probabilities of something happening or not happening.
