Staged Intervention

Glasgow’s Staged Intervention framework ensures children have their needs met in an open, fair, and consistent way. Children who face barriers to their learning and wellbeing require different levels of support and Staged Intervention is essential to effectively plan consistent additional support for learning within establishments and across the city.

SIIMS and ISMs – Inclusion Support at Stage 1 and Stage 2
SIIMs (Staged Intervention and Inclusion Meetings) are available to all GCC settings and provide a multi-agency forum for discussion of the supports settings can put in place to resolve wellbeing concerns.

Inclusion Support Meetings are similar multi-agency forums which are open to all partnership ELC settings to discuss the supports settings can put in place for children with additional support needs at stage 1 and 2.

Wellbeing Assessment and Plan (WAP)

Children whose needs are being met at Stage 3 and 4 should have their needs, targets, supports and progress recorded within an individual plan. GCC settings use the Wellbeing Application to create WAPs to support planning for individual children. Funded Providers can download and use the WAP (below) or may choose to use their own format, as long as it contains the same level of information.
