A huge congratulations to both Arnwood Nursery and Shaw Mhor Nursery who are the first recipients of the EY Nurture Award. Well done!

Child-Centred Planning – Green Acres Nursery (October 2022)
Green Acres Nursery have put together this lovely passport which they use to help support a child with additional support needs in their setting. They have allowed us to share the leaflet to support professional learning. Please note details have been taken out or changed for privacy reasons. Anonymised Passport – Green Acres Nursery
Here Kat Greenhorn (Head of Centre) explains how it came about:
“I put this together for (child) as I wanted all staff and visitors to have an insight into (him)… I wanted to showcase his strengths as well as what he finds tricky so staff feel at ease and can adapt learning to suit. Parents also have a copy and having their input was important.
I presented this at a whole staff meeting and that way staff who don’t normally work in the room or were new to the setting could ask questions..it also gave his key workers the opportunity to discuss daily routines etc. We have a copy of this on display inside the main cupboard so it can be accessed at any point, it is also a working document that can be updated in line with our observations within the setting and input from parents at our regular meetings.
It is a very important document and staff find it extremely useful.. I feel this is more reader friendly for staff as support plans seem to be overlooked as something management deal with! Staff gave very positive feedback on this.”
Family and Community Engagement – Wyndford Nursery (July 2022)

The parent gave permission for us to share her writing here Parent Letter and Wyndford have shared some photos of their indoor and outdoor spaces, showing lots of use of natural materials and a focus on child- centred experiences.
