Continuous professional learning is essential to providing high-quality ELC. Glasgow’s Professional Learning Framework is for all staff in local authority and funded providers of ELC in Glasgow to support their continuous professional learning journey. The leadership team can also use it to keep an overview of staff development needs and support planning for development at establishment level.

The framework shows how practitioners should progress through the induction and universal stages before engaging in more targeted training, with a continual emphasis on ensuring supports are in place to ensure the implementation of new skills and knowledge.

You can find all the training opportunities freely available in Glasgow by searching the tables below. Identify the stage needed (induction, universal, implementation or targeted) and use the search function (top right of table) to search for particular themes or types of training. You can also search for upcoming in-person training by checking the CPD Calendar.

The Directory of CPL for ELC is a also a useful source of information on training available nationally.

For training with costs attached, the following funding guidelines may be helpful: Funding Application Guidelines CLPL 2024 2025 and Funding Application Guidelines – Certified Qualifications 2024 2025
