Targeted Intervention and Data GatheringĀ
For some children and young people, targeted intervention may be required to improve their school attendance. School absence can be complex, and there can be many underlying reasons as to why a child does not want to attend school. It is therefore essential for schools or establishments to gather data to determine the underlying cause(s) of their school avoidance or absence. The School Refusal Assessment Scale (SRAS-R) is a data gathering tool (questionnaire) which can be used for this purpose. For more information on the SRAS-R, please read our School Refusal Assessment Scale (SRAS-R) Guidance document. Scroll to the bottom of this page to access direct links to pupil and parent versions of the SRAS-R questionnaires and the SRAS-R Excel Scoring Tool.
