FV&WL RIC Health and Wellbeing Workstream
A very warm welcome to the Forth valley and West Lothian Health and Wellbeing Workstream led by Julie Bell (FVWL RIC HWB PT) and Gillian Campbell (Curriculum Support Officer HWB, Falkirk Council Service and School Improvement Team). We are ably assisted in our collaborative endeavours by Charlene Mitchell (Stirling), Jaki Reid (Clackmannanshire), Michael Stewart (West Lothian) and Gail Hally (Education Scotland) which gives us representation across the four local authorities and Education Scotland.
Our workstream was born at the beginning of 2020 when we consulted with staff, pupils and partners in each area, alongside considering the Scottish Government recommendations from the National Thematic Review, before ascertaining our collective priorities for the PSE curriculum. We began by looking at Senior Phase Substance Use, as this was where we needed to address equity and was also where the biggest gap existed in terms of resources and staff training. Our working group has been taking forward this priority ever since by creating an online resource, which includes professional learning. We have recently extended our group to include all Secondary, Early Years and Primary Practitioners. If you would like to be involved with this working group, now or in the future, please get in touch using the link below.
In addition to creating new materials we have also collated a wide range of PSE curricular resources from Early to Senior Phase. You can access these here: https://blogs.glowscotland.org.uk/glowblogs/fvwlric/pse-resources/
In 2022 our main priority focus will be Staff Health and Wellbeing. Health and Wellbeing is quite rightly, very much at the forefront of our minds. There is a plentiful supply of Staff Health and Wellbeing resources circulating at present and we wanted to curate and create those of most value to you. The resources that can be accessed below have been collected in direct response to requests;
-from our recent health and wellbeing survey
-from our partners across our Regional Improvement Collaborative
Below is a bank of easily accessed staff wellbeing resources which are all in one place to empower bespoke self-selection. These have been selected from recommended and reliable sources. We also provide professional learning to address collective need across the four local authorities.
If you have a resource or professional development request, be it Early, Primary or Secondary focused, please contact us. We would be delighted to hear from you!
