The IOP Stirling Meeting website is now live and taking registrations.

The details of one of the workshops, on quantum technology, is still be confirmed but I hope everyone finds lots on the programme which is attractive. Although not exclusively so, there is a strong theme on environmental physics and sustainability, including the closing keynote speaker Prof. David Fowler from the University of Edinburgh. The opening keynote is by Alom Shaha, physics teacher, author and film maker (https://alomshaha.com/) speaking about explaining physics. There are a range of workshop and seminar sessions to choose from as well as exhibitions and the chance to network with friends old and new. For 2024, we are planning to use some bigger rooms at the Stirling Court Hotel compared to 2023 to ensure as many people as possible can attend their first choice of parallel session.

The early bird registration deadline is 21 March 2024 which offers significant discounts and there is a special rate of £15 for student teachers. Please encourage any student teachers you have on placement in your schools to attend to help welcome them into the wider physics teaching community in Scotland.
