Film and Screen Curriculum Professional Learning Summer School

Event Details

Screen Scotland have created draft Film and Screen Curriculum for Scotland.  Designed by early years practitioners, teachers, further and higher education specialists, industry advisers, the BFI, SQA and Education Scotland, the draft Curriculum has been tested in five local authorities, Shetland, Highland, Dundee, Edinburgh and Argyll and Bute, as follows: Phase One: Early Years and Primary 2022/23 and Phase Two: Secondary 2023/24.

Designed as an expressive art for Scotland’s Curriculum and focussed on practical filmmaking for the classroom, including a pilot SQA Film and Screen Award, Screen Scotland are now seeking teachers and schools to deliver a final Phase Three of Curriculum testing in 2024/25.  Full training for this will be provided through the Screen Scotland Summer School with ongoing support throughout the academic year from the Screen Scotland Curriculum Testing Support Programme.
