3-18 Skills for Careers Framework – a new resource
In response to the newly developed national ‘Career Education Standard’, Edinburgh City Council has launched its ‘3-18 Skills for Careers Framework’. The toolkit aims to support practitioners to support the development of learners’ skills for learning life and work.
John Schmidt (Employability Manager & Curriculum Support Leader) says: “Our framework provides a quick, easy and an effective toolkit for staff, parents and students to engage with, whilst developing the transferrable skills of Employability, Communication, Problem Solving, Working with others and Self Awareness, all of which can influence a journey to employment.”
What’s in it for you?
- BTC 4 (Skills for Learning, Life and Work), SQA Skills for Learning, Life and Work and Building the Ambition are embedded for context, enhancing school’s skills agendas
- The toolkit/framework is on one A3 page for ease of application
- Characters, posters, presentations, etc. can be accessed to embed these skills in the classroom
