Standards for Work Placement and Careers Education (3-18) – Have your say

Meaningful and productive school employer partnerships are key to Developing the Young Workforce.  To support this, overarching guidance on school employer partnerships is currently being developed by Scottish Government with Education Scotland and a wide range of partners. This will be underpinned by detailed standards and support materials on areas of work related learning where employers have a role to play. The new standards for Careers Education (3-18) and Work Placements are the first of these materials to be developed and we are looking for your views on the work done so far.

Both sets of standards have been co-created with a range of partners from inception and children and young people have been at the very centre of development.  Over 300 young people have been involved in producing the documents so far.  They have shaped the design, tested the language and rationale, and at a recent event, endorsed the latest version of the Work Placements Standard.  Working drafts of both documents, together with a short survey,  are now available on the Education Scotland website and we would really appreciate your feedback.   The survey will close on 3 July 2015.
