How have I managed to get here?

Sitting here, in my first week of university, the lecturer asked us to consider the reasoning as to why we were here. What had inspired us to undertake our course and ultimately become a teacher?

For me, personally, it was never a certain teacher or individual that lit the fire and began this journey. I began coaching football at youth level when I had only just turned sixteen. Signing contracts, being carted off for coaching badges, it was a world of fun. But most importantly it introduced me into the idea of working with children in a professional capacity…
