Who are The Bongles?

The Bongles are characters in a unique and first-of-its-kind learning resource for children, demonstrating the importance of cyber security through the medium of text. In the story, The Bongles strive to protect their treasure from The Crafty Crows and learn how to achieve this though trial and error. This unique rhyming story is part of the wider Bongles collection, created by Edinburgh publishing company, Story Learning Ltd. The Bongles and the Crafty Crows story was developed with the support of the National Cyber Security Centre, Cyber Aware, Scottish Government and Education Scotland.

Within the Scottish curriculum (CfE), children are supported to assess and manage risk and understand the impact of risk-taking behaviour in all aspects of play and learning; this includes the safe and secure explorations of digital technology – Cyber Resilience and Internet Safety.

Please download the appropriate symbolised resources for the children in your class ahead of the read along for The Bongles and The Crafty Crows Story. Just scroll down to The Bongles and the Crafty Crows resources – Primary 1 family bag – symbolised resources (symbolsforall.org.uk)
