In this 60 minute session Niki Buchan of Natural Learning joins us to share experiences from practice captured in the book she coauthored, Exploring Natural Connections with Light, Reflection and Shadow.
In this session Niki will explore and share the magical wonders children discover when they are provided with a range of exciting and freely available natural and digital resources. A variety of sources of reflections, lights and shadows offer children the opportunity to play, to question, to wonder and to learn about the exciting world around them. She will share practical real case studies as well as suggested resources and provocations that will naturally engage children in scientific play and thinking. Digital literacy is most effective when it is meaningful and relevant to young children, when it is hands-on and integrated into play through natural exploration and curiosity.
