One of the largest growing industries in the world is the App market. Giving Pupils the skills to identify a problem, design a solution, work, collaboratively, independently, and find roles that suit their particular strengths will be explored through this App prototyping session.

During the session, teachers will take on the role of a learner and explore the ways in which presentation tools such as Keynote, PowerPoint, or Google slides can be used to create a free flowing, unplugged example of an app in a prototype state. This can be adapted into computational thinking lessons that you can explore with your pupils.

Pupils can explore how to deconstruct a puzzle, design a solution, and present their ideas in an app package. There are no previous coding skills required for this activity as it is truly unplugged. This can act as a great introduction to learners and for those teachers who are new to exploding computing sciences and competition thinking with learners, session can be a great way to increase confidence before exploding coding activities.

This session will be presented using Keynote primarily on iPad. Other presentation tools can be used, however, it is advised that if you can access Keynote on iPad. It will make the session more streamlined. If you are using other presentation tools, please ensure you are fully aware of how it works to ensure that there are no interruptions that can affect the timing of this session.
