National Network for Early Language and Communication

What is the Network?

The National Early Language and Communication Network aims to bring together professionals from health, education, social care, the third sector, and community services to champion early SLC development across Scotland. We are aiming to align national and local policies, share evidence-based practices and resources and tackle system-level barriers to effective early intervention and prevention for SLC.

Who Should Join Us?

We’re inviting passionate leaders and practitioners to help shape Scotland’s approach to early SLC. This network is for:

  • Strategic leaders and senior practitioners working with children and families from pre-birth to age five.
  • Representatives from health boards, local authorities, education services, third sector organisations, and national bodies.
  • Individuals with a remit for early years, SLC, public health or child development.
  • Those who can help reflect geographic and sectoral diversity across Scotland.
