HOT OFF THE PRESS:

BANG GOES DG!  – MAY 24th 2023 at Easterbrook Hall, Dumfries

Developing the Young Workforce Dumfries and Galloway is once again working with partners, Scottish Engineering, Food and Drink Federation Scotland, CITB and The Crichton Trust and Easterbrook Hall to present the hugely successful STEM interactive show event, ‘BANG GOES DG!’

Event is open to S1/2/3 pupils as well as home learners and College/Uni students.

The 2018, 2019 and 2022 events involved over 40 businesses and saw over 1,000 S1/2/3 pupils from all 16 regional secondary schools attending. Feedback from businesses, students, teachers, organisers and other visitors was incredible and BGDG has now become a recognised and established favourite in the calendars.  And now, BGDG aims to repeat those successes and highlight the array of STEM opportunities to our young people in 2023!

Learning Through Landscapes – Local School Nature Grants

What do bird boxes, bee hotels, and nature experts all have in common? They’re all available for free as part of our Local School Nature Grants programme, supported by players of the People’s Postcode Lottery. Open to schools and early years settings in England, Scotland, and Wales, this outdoor learning grant fund has two elements – £500 of outdoor equipment chosen from a catalogue of over 100 items, and an outdoor learning training course for your staff.
