Annual Fringe Schools Poster Competition

The search for the 2012 Fringe poster has begun! The Fringe Schools Poster Competition is open to all school children in Scotland aged 5-16, and the design brief is for a colourful, vibrant and original poster that represents the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. The deadline for entries is Friday 16 March, and more details on how to enter, as well as hints and tips to help your pupils with creating their posters, can be found at www.edfringe.com/poster.

The winning design will become the official poster for the 2012 Fringe and will be used for a range of merchandise, and the top three prize winners will receive a cash prize for themselves and their school, as well as tickets to the Virgin Money Fireworks Concert this summer. All shortlisted entries will also win a place alongside the winning design in the Schools Poster Exhibition as part of the 2012 Fringe.

To support schools taking part in this year’s competition a range of learning resources, including photos, videos and sample lesson plans linked to Curriculum for Excellence Experiences and Outcomes, are available to download for free from www.edfringe.com/poster.

Don’t forget that Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society is a Creative Partner on the Creativity Portal.
