And youngsters at St Andrew’s Primary, Kilmarnock – the mobile gallery’s first port of call – made the most of the opportunity, picking out their favourite artworks and chatting to on-board guides about the exhibition. Different classes took turns to go out and climb aboard the artbus throughout the day.

Perth and Kinross primary school pupils are being tasked to pinpoint their ‘superstar of science’, whether an inventor, modern-day computer games designer, or explorer.
Organised by the Association for Science Education <http://www.asescotland.org.uk/annual-conference.html> , whose annual Scottish conference will be held at Crieff Hydro Hotel on Friday 2 and Saturday 3 March 2012, the Superstars of Science competition will ask primary 4-7 pupils in Perth and Perthshire to select their science hero and research his or her impact on modern-day life.
Superstars can be alive or dead, from anywhere in the world and associated with any scientific speciality or era, past or present. TechFest-SetPoint, a Scottish educational charity which promotes STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) subjects, will shortly be sending competition packs to all local authority and independent primary schools throughout the area.
Now that our amazing Glovember Author Events have finished, Education Scotland is giving you two more weeks to enter your stories, poems and illustrations for the Glovember competition.
All you have to do is go to the Glovember Glow Group within Glow, click on the competition page tab and upload your story, poem or illustration. Be sure to do this before the closing date of Friday 16 December.
Winners will be announced in January, after some of our authors have helped us with the judging. Winning entries will be published in our eBook and read by one of the Glovember Authors.

There are now 33 creatively focused Glow Groups available through the Creativity Portal and Scottish Ballet is just the latest.
At Scottish Ballet Education is Everywhere, it ranges from theatre activities and community classes to online resources and workshops for schools and colleges. The schools’ programme links directly to the work of the Company and provides a broad range of access points for pupils of all ages and abilities.

http://www.shetland.gov.uk/news-advice/PR-BardsintheBogisback.asp Entries are already rolling in for the re-launch of Shetland Library’s popular scheme to put original poetry in public toilets: Bards in the Bog. The original ‘Bards’ launched in 2009 and was part of the Poet Partner project, which teamed the Library with poet Jen Hadfield. The scheme attracted wide media attention and entries from all over the world. Deadline for submissions is the 21st December, and the new poems will appear in toilets from January.
