Science and its applications are part of our everyday lives. Through science children develop their interest in, and understanding of, the living, material and physical world. They engage in a wide range of collaborative investigative tasks, which allows them to develop important skills. Skills, knowledge and understanding are developed progressively through: Planet Earth, Forces, Electricity and Waves, Biological systems, Materials and Topical Science.

Where possible, connections are made with other areas of the curriculum to reinforce understanding and skills.
