Health and Wellbeing

The school programme for Personal, Social, Health Education and Physical Education aims to offer children opportunities to develop awareness of themselves and others and to increase their knowledge and understanding of a range of lifestyles and health issues. In addition to the time in the week devoted to Personal, Social and Health Education, children’s physical, emotional and social health is furthered by making use of learning opportunities which arise in other areas of the curriculum.

We aim to provide children with 2 hours of Physical Education per week covering a whole range of activities and experiences further enhanced by experiences provided by our Active Primary Co-ordinator, including Golf, Rugby, Netball and Football. Commitment is also given to ensuring that the school ethos, policies and extra-curricular activities have a positive impact on children’s physical environment and on their emotional and social health. We have an extensive programme of other school activities which is continually changing to respond to the needs of the children.
