RERC

Religious Education includes learning about Christianity, Islam and other world religions, and supports the development of beliefs and values.

This is Our Faith is used throughout the school to organise our RERC experiences. Through the core learning we develop the child’s relationship with God and enable him/her to grow into a caring and responsible adult.

In Primary 3, children are prepared for the Sacrament of Reconciliation, with preparation for Holy Eucharist being undertaken in Primary 4, and the Sacrament of Confirmation will be offered to children in Primary 7.

The school works in partnership with parents and the Parish Community of St Patrick’s.

Our school is fortunate to have a close link with the local church.  Our School Chaplain, Canon Paul Gargaro supports the Religious Education in Roman Catholic Schools (RERC) and provides opportunities for religious observance. On Holidays of Obligation, Mass is celebrated in the Church. Children also attend Mass in the Parish on the first Friday of every month. Parents have the right to withdraw their child from religious observance and should inform the school in writing.

Sex education is taught through RERC and Health and Wellbeing, alongside the Relationships and Moral Education programme, ‘God’s Loving Plan’. If you would like more information on this resource please click one of the links below.
