Our Vision

Here at St Joachim’s Primary, our vision is to support our young children to achieve the 4 Capacities of a Curriculum for Excellence to be a: Responsible Citizen, Effective Contributor, Confident Individual, and a Successful learner. We will look to ensure equity, inspire and empower our learners, families, staff and community through Digital Learning.

Digital Strategy

Our Learners
· We will use modern digital technologies to support enhance learning that takes place ensuring pupils have quality learning experiences

· To ensure a future proof education that accounts for ever changing technology we will endeavor to purchase and provide support in using new technology

·Our learners will have the opportunity to explore a wide range of resources through quality, differentiated learning experiences

·  Our learners will have access to online tools and resources that can help support their learning

· Their digital learning experiences will help provide them with the tools and knowledge to use technology appropriately

·  Our learners will learn about online safety and how to manage risk in addition to learning how to look after technology to ensure its longevity

· Our learners develop skills in critically evaluating materials they find online and understand how to use this content safely and legally

· Primary 7 will be given their own iPad to enhance their digital learning

Our Staff
· Our strategy for digital learning will be shared by our digital leader and supported by the Senior Leadership Team, who will ensure we are able to meet its aims

· Our digital leader will share any information on Glasgow’s changing digital landscape will be collated and shared and the staff team will work with GCC to ensure we can keep our commitment to our pupils as outlined above

·  Teaching staff will evaluate the impact of digital technologies on learning and report to SLT to allow evidence to be collated and shared

· Staff awareness raising and CLPL sessions will demonstrate the value of digital learning and allow for the sharing of good practice. Ongoing support will be in place for staff members looking to try specific hardware, software, or approaches

· Teaching staff will be encouraged to enrol in the Apple Teacher programme

· Teaching staff will be trained and begin to use OneDrive for file storage, sharing and collaboration

·Teaching staff will all be provided with an iPad which they can use to enhance their digital lessons and continually improve their technology skills

Parents, Carers and Families
·  Our Digital Learning Strategy will be shared with parents, carers and families

· We will continue to provide information on Cyber Resilience, Internet Safety and Digital Literacy

· We will offer and arrange support to help support children with digital learning and in coping with the demands of an evolving digital world

·  We will continue to incorporate digital family learning experiences, continually seeking new ideas and ways to improve communication and collaboration

· We will involve our parents in the evaluation of our digital strategy through survey
