Learning and Pedagogy

Our approach to the learning is based on the processes of howchildren learn and how children learn best – pedagogy. The entire nursery approach is based on play.

Through this approach, the staff develop vital skills and knowledge and a positive attitude to learning from our children. All staff engage and challenge children’s thinking using real-life and imaginary situations (Building the Curriculum 2).

We ensure that children are provided with opportunities for learning through:

  • spontaneous play
  • planned, purposeful play
  • investigating and exploring
  • events and life experiences
  • focused learning and teaching

Children are supported when necessary through sensitive intervention to support or extend learning. We strongly agree that all areas of the curriculum can be enriched and developed through play.
