To celebrate Science week we are hosting some exciting science workshops for families. Come along to explore, experiment and discover new explosive activities with your child.

Family outing

You are invited to bring your family to the Scotland street museum on Friday 20th March at 1pm

The workshop would include:

  • Tour of the museum looking at classrooms from different historical periods and learning about education in the past
  • Historical object handling
  • Making, sharing and playing south Asian games (make a lapoo and tapoo stone, make your own snakes and ladders)
  • Take home your games for home use resources
  • Scotland Street School Museum can provide access to a small comfort zone and portable sensory pod with tactile toy kits if required

Coffee Morning in aid of school funds

Good Morning!

Our parent Council are running a coffee morning next Friday 21st February at 9am. Please call in to support our school. (£1 entry fee)

Home baking would be very much welcomed

We have invited  a guest speaker from Amina our local women’s charity to offer information and guidance for us all.

Come along for tea, cakes and a chat.

International Women’s Day Lunch

Following our successful lunch last year for International Women’s Day we are hosting our annual Ladies Lunch on Friday 6th March @ 12md.

There will be a number of female speakers from a variety of organisations, music, games and food.

Bring along you family and friends to enjoy this amazing afternoon. Tickets are £10 to cover costs and will be available in the office from Monday 17th February.

If you would like to offer any services or ideas for the lunch please contact me.

Family learning events update

PTC coffee morning February – Friday 21st February @ 9.15am

Primary 6 Maths workshop on 4th March @ 1.45pm

World book day – Thursday 5th March – Task to be given as home learning on Monday 24th February. Pupils to describe their favourite character to their class through drama, storytelling, poster, picture, writing etc. They may also dress up as that character on the day

Ladies lunch Friday 6th March  Tickets on sale soon

Primary 7 maths workshop on 18th March @ 1.45pm

Spring ball March Thursday 26th March at 5 – 7pm.  party bags and entertainment organised by PC. Tickets £2.50 on sale from beginning of March.

Recycling catwalk – to be given as an optional home learning task on 30th March. Children have to design an outfit from recycling. Display will take place on Thursday 30th April at 1.30pm.

Summer family outing – Possibly Safari Park in June – information letter will go out soon.

Primary 1 Families Connect

Primary 1 pupils are enjoying learning with their parents and spending time with them. Last week we learned about feelings and this week we learned about good listening skills.
