12/09/2016  Here are the solutions to homework 1.  The average score was 59%.  Lots of people used a calculator for the percentage questions; you must practise your non-calculator skills as this was an area that caught out a lot of candidates in last year’s exam.  Another common error was in Q5f) lots of people tried to simplify the result when they expanded the brackets – there are no like terms so this wasn’t possible.  Ensure you do something to address the areas you struggled with.
