World book day!

WORLD BOOK DAY

Dear Parent/Carer,
Quarry Brae is celebrating World Book day Thursday 7th March.
To ensure this is a special day at school there are some things you should do.
Your child should come to school with a book, comic or magazine they like.
• They should also dress up as a character or wear dress down clothes or bring a toy from one of the stories they like.
• We are looking for parent volunteers to read stories to classes so if you would like to read to a small group of children please call the school to arrange this.

These are some of the activities that will happen in Quarry Brae on this day
• There will be Drop Everything and Read (DEAR) time.
• Some classes can pair up to share their favourite stories
• There will be a design a book token competition.
• The support staff will be giving out raffle tickets to children “caught” reading. There will be a prize draw at the end of the day to win a book.
• Each child will be given a £1 book token that can be exchanged at participating book shops e.g. W.H. Smith & Asda.

We look forward to having a nice time,

Depute Head
Ms Porteous
