Primary 6b Wallacewell Primary

A week in P6b

This week has been full of energy, creativity, and great teamwork as we continued to build on our learning across different subjects. Here are some of the highlights and key learning points from our activities:

We stayed active in PE by playing rounders and beginning our own Commonwealth Games practice. We took part in sprint races and relay races, helping us build speed, teamwork, and cooperation.

We continued developing our research skills by building on our Commonwealth project. We explored different countries, drew their flags, and researched athletes from those countries. We then created presentations and shared them with the class, helping us grow in confidence when presenting.

Our reading skills were a focus again this week. We started a new reading journal, aiming to improve both the quality of our responses and our presentation. We also worked on comprehension questions using our reading books to strengthen our understanding.

In writing, we practised persuasive techniques by creating a piece to convince our teacher to give us extra break and lunchtime. This helped us use strong arguments and expressive language.

In STEM, we explored shape drawings and learned how to use Keynote more effectively, helping us improve our digital and design skills.

We also worked together to create a new class charter, thinking about how we want our classroom to feel and how we should treat each other. We shared our ideas through our “How Good Is Our School?” floorbook, making sure everyone’s voice was heard. Our committees also returned, giving us responsibility and opportunities to contribute to our school community.
