We’ve had another busy and exciting week with lots of different learning experiences across the curriculum! Here are some of the highlights and key learning points from our activities:
We developed our teamwork, coordination, and strategy skills in PE by taking part in invasion target games. These activities helped us think about movement, positioning, and working together as a team.
In RSHP, we explored important topics about growing up and relationships. We learned about what sex is, how human life begins, and what it means to be a parent or carer. These lessons helped us build understanding, respect, and confidence in discussing important life topics.
In maths, we worked on a range of number skills. We learned how to convert decimal numbers into fractions and explored negative numbers, including how to add and subtract them. These lessons helped us strengthen our understanding of number systems and problem-solving.
We also focused on our reading skills. During our novel study, we explored new vocabulary and used it in context. We practised reading comprehension using our own books, helping us improve our understanding and thinking skills.
In STEM, we presented our learning using Keynote, sharing what we have been working on over the past few weeks. We also enjoyed a special STEM afternoon with parents, where we planned a space mission and learned about gravity and orbits. We continued working on our space presentations, developing our research and presentation skills.
We explored creativity through Art Hub on the iPad, using digital tools to develop our artistic skills.
In PATHS, we learned about dealing with teasing and how to respond in a calm and respectful way, supporting our emotional wellbeing and relationships with others.
We enjoyed rewards for our hard work, including time on the pitch playing with the new football goals and using our class money system. These rewards recognised our positive behaviour and effort.
We also had some special experiences this week. We attended an interfaith roadshow, where we learned about different beliefs and cultures, and an assembly focused on rights and World Water Day, helping us understand global issues and the importance of fairness and responsibility.
To finish the week, we completed our spelling test and enjoyed our final week of swimming, continuing to build confidence and skills in the water.
