What a fantastic and busy week we’ve had! Here are some of the highlights and key learning points from our activities:
We started the week with lots of energy by playing non-stop cricket in the gym. This helped us improve our teamwork, coordination, and batting skills. In French, we learned how to say family member names, which built our vocabulary and confidence in speaking a new language. In maths, we put everything we’ve learned about graphs into practice, helping us better understand how to use data.
We continued developing our physical skills with target practice in PE, where we focused on accuracy and concentration. We also enjoyed a World Book Day assembly, which reminded us of the importance of reading and storytelling. In maths, we carried on with data handling, learning how to collect and organise information.
Our creativity shone through when we wrote Toy Story-themed setting descriptions, using imaginative and descriptive language. In maths, we learned how to read and create pie charts to show data visually. We also enjoyed some free time as a reward for our hard work and positive behaviour. Additionally, we set up our class iPads and learned how to use them responsibly for learning.
We explored science by learning more about different substances and their properties. In social studies, we discovered the history of tartan and even found our own family tartans, which was very exciting. During reading time, we continued our class novel, identified interesting words, and used them in our own sentences to improve our vocabulary.
To finish the week, we went swimming where we had some free play and learned breaststroke techniques, focusing on breathing and coordination. We also completed our pictures for the class challenge, showing creativity and effort. We carried out surveys, practising how to gather information, and completed our spelling and data handling test to show what we’ve learned.
