This week in mathematics we did multiplication,  perimeter and area. In literacy we focused on our spelling words and persuasive text. We also read our class novel “The Girl Who Stole an Elephant” and completed some Word Aware activities based on tricky words from the text. We will be doing much more work based around this book as the term goes on. We also had periods of reading for pleasure in class this week. There was a Scottish Book Week assembly on Tuesday, where a member of our class read an extract from a book out to the whole school. Well Done! On Tuesday we had Bikeability and on Friday we went swimming. We are making excellent progress in swimming. In STEM we were making traps to try catch a pheasant. On Thursday we had an assembly and we were talking about the Commonwealth Games. But then the mascot came into the assembly hall and was really funny. They were shaking their bottoms at the crowd! They said there was 10 sports in the Commonwealth Games. We were also told there was 74 countries competing against each other. We are looking forward to it. It should be fun.
