P6b Class Blog

This week in maths we have been looking at area and perimeter of simple and complex shapes. We have mostly got the hang of perimeter and will concentrate more next week on area of complex shapes.
In literacy, this week our writing focus has been persuasive writing. We planned and then started a piece of persuasive writing about having phones in school. Next week we will complete and edit this piece.
We had fun in P.E, this week with some volleyball. We learned how to use the volley technique properly to pass the ball. Unfortunately, we had a lot of cancellations this week, including Bikeability for two groups because the weather was so bad. Swimming also got cancelled this week and our organised trip to the local library. Hopefully next week will be much better.
In IDL we looked at condensation in our water topic and then later on we looked at how water is cleaned before we use it. In class, we had a go at making our own water filters. They were very successful. We then wrote a report on our science experiment, just like real scientists!
