This week started with many rehearsals for our showcase! In between we managed to fit in some reading skills activities and reciprocal reading groups. We began planning our next balanced argument in writing and we finished our  block on decimals in maths.
We enjoyed performing our Diversity showcase on Thursday for our grown ups. We have worked very hard learning our lines, songs, dance and even sign language , we hope you enjoyed it!

This week in p5a

It has been a busy week as our practice for our showcase is in full swing! We can’t wait to share our learning and all our hard work in our performance next week. In Maths this week we have been continuing our work on decimals; comparing and ordering decimals, using a number line and our knowledge of place value. We have also been using our addition and subtraction strategies for calculations with decimal numbers. In writing we have been presenting our balanced arguments, giving both sides of an argument equally. In reading we have been developing our use of strategies through different and trickier texts.

This week in p5a

In maths this week we have begun work on our decimals block of learning, whilst also beginning a maths project which is game based, using lots of problem solving skills.
In writing we completed out non chronological reports and were able to structure these well with lots off detail. We have been working hard on our diversity topic and this week explored the impact of stereotypes and bias. We have now begun work on our Diversity showcase which will be next month, so any practice of our songs at home would be great!
