Beatson Santa Dash 2025 – Help Us Reach Our Target

Two years ago, our school community came together to raise funds for the Beatson Cancer Charity. Cancer impacts countless lives in different ways, and the Beatson continues to make an incredible difference through its compassionate care and unwavering support.

The Beatson Cancer Charity works alongside the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre – one of the leading cancer care facilities in the UK – providing vital funding for specialist staff, innovative research, and improved patient wellbeing. From emotional support and complementary therapies to cutting-edge treatments and clinical excellence, the charity ensures that patients and their families receive the best possible care at every stage of their journey.

We are proud to continue supporting the Beatson and the life-changing work they do for so many across Scotland.

This year, some of our amazing staff will be taking part in the Glasgow Santa Dash 2025 with Beatson Cancer Charity on Sunday the 7th December at Glasgow Green. Please help us to raise our fundraising target by donating to our Just Giving fundraising page. Click on the link below to access –

Movie Making in P4b

This week the children had so much fun creating their own superhero characters, diorama settings, and then using digital technology to make stop motion short films or comic book strips. They especially loved showing each other their finished films. Well done P4b for another very successful week.

This week in P4a

This week the children have again worked incredibly hard. We have written another piece of procedural writing, and worked very hard on our reading comprehension using our weekly homework books and after watching a short film. In health and well-being our focus was the emotion worry, the children created a worry chain to help talk about our worry’s and support emotional regulation. In IDL this week the children created their own Superhero’s. We have begin learning about 3d shapes and all the children engaged very well in the active shape building lesson.

Weekly round up in P4b

What a week we have had. The children have worked incredibly hard this week on listening, working as a team, and taking turns to talk. Our classroom teddy Mr Marshmallow is the classes’ chosen strategy to help us meet our weekly target!

In numeracy the children have been learning to round to the nearest 10, and they loved consolidating their learning through active numeracy coding activities. In writing we created wonderful procedural texts for our Superhero slime recipe. In reading this week we based our learning from the Pixar short film ‘The Present’ we loved answer questions about this film, ask us questions to test us!

Today the children loved learning about Rosh Hashanah and trying some traditional foods together. In the afternoon we had our first P4 library committee meeting and have come up with so many creative and brilliant ideas to get our whole school to love reading just as much as we do!

Hard work in P4b

The children have all been working very hard in P4b. We have been focusing on our spelling, using a rang of active spelling strategies to solidify our learning. In numeracy the children have developed a sound knowledge of place value and are confidently using the partition technique. Everyone has shown progression and some are even working with numbers greater than 1000!
In P.E this term we are focusing on football, the children have enjoyed perfecting and learning a range of ball skills. Last week we were very lucky to be invited to watch a full production of Alice in Wonderland, our gym hall was transformed and the children loved it.
