What a busy and exciting week we have had in Primary 4!
In maths, we have been continuing our learning about fractions. This week we focused on ordering fractions and thinking carefully about which fractions are bigger or smaller. The class worked hard using number lines and visual models to help compare fractions. Everyone showed great determination and we are becoming much more confident when explaining our thinking.
As part of our rainforest topic, we have been learning about different species of frogs that live in the Amazon Rainforest. The children were fascinated to discover how colourful and unique many of these frogs are, and we talked about how their colours can help protect them in the wild. To link with our art, we created our own Amazon frog artwork using bright colours and patterns. The classroom is now looking wonderfully vibrant!
We also had great fun starting our weekly football coaching. The children enjoyed practising their ball control, passing and teamwork skills. It was fantastic to see everyone encouraging each other and working together.
This week we also celebrated World Book Day. Throughout the day the class took part in lots of activities that gave us the chance to read for pleasure. We spent time exploring different books, sharing stories with friends and talking about our favourite characters and authors. It was lovely to see so much enthusiasm for reading.
To finish off the week, we made the most of the sunny weather and took our learning outdoors. During outdoor learning we practised measuring perimeter by measuring different shapes and areas around the playground. It was a great way to apply our maths skills in a real-life setting while enjoying some fresh air.
Well done to everyone for working so hard this week. Have a lovely weekend and we look forward to another great week of learning in Primary 4!
