We have had another busy and enjoyable week in class!
In maths, we have been learning the multiplication box method, and the children are developing a really secure understanding of this strategy. For literacy, we focused on the ‘oo’ phoneme in spelling and worked hard to spot and use it in our reading and writing. We thoroughly enjoyed welcoming parents into the classroom on Thursday to see our learning – thank you so much for coming along and sharing this with us.
The class also watched the P6 Burns Showcase rehearsal, which inspired lots of great discussion. We have planned a response writing task linked to this and are really looking forward to writing these next week.
In art, we painted our clay model Loch Ness Monsters, as well as creating some beautiful Nessie landscape paintings. The results were fantastic and full of creativity.
Finally, we have been learning all about Robert Burns ahead of Burns Night, exploring his life and looking closely at the language features in some of his most famous poems.
Well done everybody for all your hard work!
