Last Week in P4a

Hello everyone,

It was lovely to properly meet some of you last week at parents’ evening and I’m looking forward to meeting the rest of you this Thursday!

We moved onto a new topic last week – Inventors! The children enjoyed learning about Alexander Graham Bell and the invention of the telephone, as well as choosing an inventor to research themselves on the iPads and trying to match old inventions with modern items. In Writing, we completed a setting description of Bonfire Night with a focus on the 5 senses. In Reading, we have been continuing to find the meaning of unknown words using context clues and the dictionary, as well as becoming more comfortable in identifying adjectives.

Snapshot jotters went home today with a letter – just want to note that some children’s Term 2 work may be mixed in a bit with Term 1 if children filled old blank pages (before the Term 2 targets). So, have a look and if you see any October/November dates, they are from this Term’s snapshot work.

Friendly reminder that the children have Spelling homework to complete in their home jotters and Sumdog homework to complete on a device. Reading books will go home tomorrow.

Have a good week,

Miss Love
