Primary 4a Wallacewell Primary

Happy Halloween!

Good afternoon, everyone!
With our Primary 4 Showcase coming up, the past week has been full of practices along with our usual learning. In writing, the children wrote great pieces on a haunted house setting with a focus on our 5 senses. In Numeracy, we moved onto subtraction and had our open afternoon, and in RME, we had a great lesson surrounding Diwali during which the children loved learning about Rama and Sita. We have been improving our meta-linguistic skills in reading by picking out words that we do not know the meaning of from non-fiction books and using the context around the word to make an educated guess regarding the word’s meaning before looking it up in the dictionary. Today, we applied our talking and listening skills to a spooky activity in which the children asked yes or no questions to figure out what spooky character their partner had! We finished off today with some Halloween art using crayons and the blending technique which the children are holding in the pictures below.

Our Showcase is on Thursday 6th November 09:30-10:00 and we can’t wait for you to see what we have been practicing (I know a lot of you have already had glimpses at home).

Have a lovely weekend,

Miss Love
