Art and Writing

In art we painted scarecrow faces and made fruit and vegetables using tissue paper and coloured pencils. This week in writing we were learning how to write a recount by pretending to be one of the three little pigs and retelling the story of the Big Bad Wolf. We also practised copying accurately from the board. In maths we were learning 2 digit addition using tens and ones.

We will also be doing a Food collection for our Bothy as part of our harvest festival celebrations and I would be grateful if you could send in any canned foods you might be able to spare. Thank You.

Show Practise

P2 are in full swing with their show practise. Their lines have been glued into their homework jotters. If they could look these over each night that would be great. They are also learning 3 songs which can be found on youtube. It would be wonderful if they could practise these a couple of times a week.

The song titles are as follows –  Harvest time

Autumn Leaves

Cauliflower Fluffy

Primary 2a

This week Primary 2a have been learning about place value and doing their Sumdog diagnostic assessments. Next week we will be moving onto addition and subtraction. We continued with Character description by describing the White Rabbit and we also learned how to order the months of the year. In health and wellbeing we talked about our emotions and happiness and discussed the things that make us happy.

Can the boys and girls ensure that they are bringing their reading books everyday so they can be used in class.

Welcome to Primary 2A

This week we have been focusing on character description using characters from Alice in Wonderland. We have used amazing adjectives to describe the Mad Hatter and the Cheshire Cat. Next week we will describe the White Rabbit. We were also lucky enough to see a play about Alice in Wonderland that the boys and girls really enjoyed.

We kindly ask that everyone ensures that they have indoor shoes to wear everyday to help keep our classroom carpet clean now that the winter is almost upon us and its raining more often. Also the boys and girls will have their reading books in their bags each day and it would be great if they could read every night for 5 or 10mins to help improve their reading skills. But please remember to bring the book to school everyday as we will need them to read in class.
