Robots, Reading and Remarkable Learning!

Primary 2/1 have been busy exploring the wonderful world of robots! Using a variety of junk modelling materials, the children designed and created their very own robots. They showed incredible creativity, transforming everyday items into imaginative robot creations with unique features and special abilities. It was fantastic to see the children sharing ideas, solving problems, and taking pride in their finished models.

In Maths, we have been exploring halves and quarters. The children worked hard to identify and create equal parts, developing their understanding of fractions through a range of practical activities. They also discovered that the more people you share something with, the smaller each person’s share becomes. This led to some excellent discussions and problem-solving as they applied their learning to real-life sharing situations.

In Literacy, we have been reading the fantastic story One Button Benny. The children used their imagination to predict what might happen when Benny pressed the mysterious button. Their creative ideas included saving the world from aliens, flying through the sky, and gaining amazing robot powers such as stretching super-long arms or blowing bubbles. It was wonderful to hear the children sharing and explaining their imaginative predictions.

It has been another fantastic week in Primary 2/1, full of creativity, curiosity, teamwork, and learning. We are very proud of all the children’s hard work and look forward to the adventures that next week will bring!
