Another fantastic week of learning in p2/1.
One of the highlights has been keeping the beat to samba music with our music teacher, Nicola. The children enjoyed finding the rhythm, moving to the beat, and joining in with the music. We also watched short clips from the movie Rio to help us learn more about samba and what a festival in Brazil might look like.
In the playroom, we have been learning about the different parts of a plant. The children created some thoughtful artwork to show their understanding. Our bean plants on the windowsill are growing at different speeds, which has given us a great opportunity to observe and talk about changes over time.
In maths, we have been working hard to understand halves by folding and cutting shapes into equal parts. We have also started exploring multiplication and division through making equal groups using objects, helping us build our understanding in a hands-on way.
It has been a busy and productive week of learning in P2/1. I hope you all enjoy the long holiday weekend.
