This week in class, we have been exploring our new topic: Changes. It has been a fantastic start to our final term of the year, with lots of exciting learning taking place across all areas.
We began by looking at how things change over time in the natural world. One of our favourite activities was planting seeds and observing how they grow and change into flowers. This helped us understand that change can take time and requires the right conditions.
We also explored how the weather and seasons change throughout the year. Through role play and creative art activities in the playroom, we acted out different types of weather and discussed how each season is different. This made our learning fun and interactive.
Our main focus has been learning about the water cycle. We discussed how water changes state and learned about the important role of the sun in this process, especially in evaporation. We are beginning to understand how water moves in a continuous cycle and why it is so important for life on Earth.
In numeracy, we have been developing our skills in finding missing numbers and learning about fractions. We have been using practical activities to help us understand these concepts more clearly.
In literacy, we have been working on sequencing stories and adding more detail to our writing. It has been great to see everyone becoming more confident in expressing their ideas and improving their storytelling.
With the sun making a welcome appearance, we were also able to enjoy some outdoor P.E. sessions. We took part in fun circuit activities to help improve our skills and begin preparing for sports day.
Overall, it has been a fantastic first week back, and we are looking forward to continuing our learning throughout this final term!
