Primary 1b have had a busy and enjoyable week full of learning!
In Maths, we have been practising skip counting and learning to identify coins, helping the children become more confident with numbers and money.
In Phonics, we focused on the “th” sound, practising how it is made and spotting it in words. We also enjoyed exploring rhyming words, listening carefully for words that sound the same at the end.
Our Scotland topic has continued with learning about Thistles, Scottish tourist spots and castles, which sparked lots of interest and discussion. In Writing, the children wrote about the Isle of Struay from our Katie Morag stories, using their imagination and developing writing skills.
We also enjoyed our Open Afternoon, where parents and carers visited the classroom. The children loved sharing their learning and were very proud of their work.
Thank you to all parents and carers for your continued support with learning at home – it really makes a big difference. I would also like to kindly remind families that toys are best kept at home, as they can sometimes become distracting or get lost during the school day.
Thank you for your understanding and support with this.
