This week, Primary 1 have been focusing on our Wallacewell topic by learning more about the local area. We talked about and explored a range of well-known landmarks in the area, including Wallace’s Well, the local monument, Hogganfield Loch, and Robroyston Park. The children enjoyed naming places they recognised and ones they have visited.
In literacy we consolidated our phonics knowledge by recapping some of the digraph sounds covered recently in class. We also wrote about our favourite parts of Sports Day and discussed why we enjoyed them so much.
In maths, we have been developing our understanding of multiplication and doubling numbers. The children used lots of practical materials to help them explore equal groups and find doubles in different ways. They worked enthusiastically to create clear visual representations and explain their thinking with confidence.
Thank you again for your continued support at home!
