Primary 1b Wallacewell Primary

This week in P1b!

Primary 1b have enjoyed another busy and engaging week in class, with lots of opportunities to learn through practical activities, discussion and play.

In Maths, we explored adding three or more numbers together. The children used a range of concrete materials and resources to help them count and combine numbers. We also continued our learning about heavier and lighter, comparing different objects and discussing which items weighed more or less.

In Literacy, our phonics sound this week was “ph.” The children practised recognising and saying the sound, as well as spotting it in words. We also worked on sentence writing using our senses, imagining what we might see, hear, smell, taste and feel at a fairground. The children came up with some fantastic descriptive ideas!

Our topic learning continued to focus on the NHS. This week the class also explored foods that are good for our teeth and foods that are not so good, helping us think about how we can keep our teeth healthy.

In PE, we continued to develop our football skills, focusing on control and teamwork. The children also enjoyed taking part in dance, moving to music and practising different movements.

Primary 1b should be very proud of their efforts this week. They have shown great enthusiasm in their learning and have worked hard across all areas of the curriculum. Well done everyone!
