Primary 1b have had been hard at work and had lots of fun during another exciting week of learning!
In Maths, we continued to build on our number sense and explored simple measurement by learning about heavier and lighter. The children enjoyed comparing different objects and discussing which ones weighed more or less during our activities.
In Phonics, we focused on the “wh” sound. The children practiced saying the sound clearly, identifying it in words and using it during reading and writing activities.
This week we also celebrated World Book Day. The children enjoyed talking about their favourite books and used these as inspiration for their writing. We also took part in a World Book Day assembly and created posters to celebrate reading and share our love of books.
We have continued learning about the NHS through our classroom activities and playroom. This week we explored the roles of opticians and pharmacists. The children had the chance to roleplay these jobs in our playroom, helping patients and giving advice during their imaginative play.
In PE, we worked on developing our football skills, using control, passing and working together as a team.
Well done to Primary 1b for another fantastic week of learning.
