Primary 1b Wallacewell Primary

A busy week in P1b!

We’ve had another busy time this week in class as we move towards the end of November.

In literacy we covered two more sounds and have been making great progress in blending our sounds together to make CVC words we can use in our writing. This week we discussed The Giant from Jack and the Beanstalk and used a number of adjectives to describe him. We’re improving every week and it’s a joy to see!

In numeracy we’ve been looking at subtraction and how we can take away numbers using concrete materials. We’re quickly becoming number experts!

As part of Book Week, we visited the local library and learned there are over 5,000 books kept there – we couldn’t take them all back to school but all children were allowed to borrow one they can keep in class before it’s time to return. It was a great experience and we enjoyed the wee walk, even with the frosty weather.

Our nativity rehearsals are well underway and we have been learning songs, actions and dialogue that is sure to come together for a wonderful show on the day.

Next week we have our trip to the pantomime to look forward to and I’m sure it’ll be a fantastic experience for all who attend.

Thanks for your continued support!

Mr McCusker
