Brilliant Start to Primary 1B!

Welcome to our first blog of Primary 1B! We’ve had a fantastic start to the school year and the children have settled in brilliantly. It’s been a busy and exciting few weeks as we’ve been getting to know one another, learning classroom routines, and beginning our learning journey together. We’ve started introducing the initial sounds in phonics, and the children have enjoyed exploring these through songs, games, and stories. In numeracy, we’ve been working with numbers 1 to 10, using a variety of hands-on activities to help build number recognition and counting skills.

Our topic this term will be Superheroes, which has sparked lots of imagination and creativity! We’ve talked about the qualities that make someone a hero and linked this to being kind, helpful, and trying our best – just like real-life superheroes in the classroom. We also had the chance to watch a performance of Alice in Wonderland, which the children loved. It gave us a great opportunity to talk about story settings, characters, and using our imaginations. It’s been a wonderful start, and we’re looking forward to everything the rest of the term will bring!

Homework will be issued starting next week, jotters should have made their way home today and this will give everyone the opportunity to consolidate the learning we do in class.

Thank you!
